Setting up selling plans

A subscription plan decides how often a customer gets something and at what discount. You create plans in Loyalo; they are put on your products as native Shopify Selling Plans.

Creating a plan

  1. Open Subscriptions > PlansChoose 'New plan'. Give the plan an internal name, for example 'Coffee subscription', and a heading customers see above the choices, for example 'Delivery'.
  2. Add frequenciesPer frequency you choose the rhythm (every so many days, weeks, months or years), the name for the customer and the discount.
  3. Choose the productsSelect whole products or separate variants. A product can be in several plans.
  4. SaveThe plan is on the products in Shopify right away and the widget shows the choices on the product page.

What you set per plan

PartNotes
FrequenciesAs many as you like, each with its own discount
DiscountA percentage per frequency; it can be zero
Products and variantsWhole products or only certain variants
PrepaidSeveral deliveries in one payment, with or without automatic renewal
Native in Shopify

The plans are in Shopify itself. Orders, customers and products stay there, and a subscription order is a regular Shopify order with the plan on it.

The minimum term and the notice period apply to all plans and are set under Subscriptions > Settings. How the choice looks on the product page is set under Settings > Widget.

Can I offer several frequencies per product?

Yes. A plan has one or more frequencies, each with its own discount. The customer chooses on the product page.

Can I add a product to a plan later?

Yes. You add or remove products or variants; running subscriptions do not change because of it.

Can a customer change frequency later?

Yes, to another frequency in the same plan, if you allow it under Subscriptions > Settings.

Do customers see the names in their own language?

The standard names, such as 'Every 2 weeks', are translated into the other languages of your shop.
