Three ways to get in
| Place | How the customer gets there | Setting it up |
|---|---|---|
| Shopify customer account | Logged in to their account, through the pages 'Subscriptions' and 'Loyalty' | Shopify: Settings > Customer accounts, add the pages to the menu |
| Portal in your shop | Without a Shopify login: the customer asks for a login link by email | Subscriptions > Settings: 'Manage without Shopify login' |
| Own portal | On an address of your own, for example portal.yourshop.com, with a login link as well | Subscriptions > Settings: 'Your own portal' |
What customers can do themselves
Under Subscriptions > Settings you switch on or off, per item, what customers may do.
- Pause and resume
- Skip the next delivery
- Move the delivery date, up to a maximum number of days ahead
- Choose another frequency within the same plan
- Swap product or variant within the same plan, keeping the discount
- Change the quantity
- Change the delivery address
- Renew the payment method: a new card or a new iDEAL mandate
- Add a one-time extra to the next delivery
- Cancel, with a reason and possibly an offer to stay
The customer also sees the next deliveries and their latest orders. When the points programme is on, they see their balance, tier, rewards and codes in the same portal.
Brand style
You set the colours, the rounding, the logo and the name of your programme under Loyalty > Brand. The portal, the emails and the blocks in your shop use the same brand style.
With a prepaid subscription the customer cannot pause, skip or reschedule themselves. Cancelling is only possible for a package that renews automatically.
Do customers need a password?
No. In the Shopify customer account they are logged in already. Outside it they get a login link by email.
Can a customer change something from an email?
Yes. The email about the next delivery has buttons to skip or reschedule right away, without logging in.
Can the portal be on my own domain?
Yes. You switch on the own portal and connect a subdomain of your website with a CNAME record. Until then it works on a Loyalo address.
What does a business customer see?
Business customers see the standing orders of their company in their customer account and can have an earlier order repeated.
Prepaid and gifting
Sell several deliveries in one payment and let customers give a subscription as a gift with a recipient, a message and a start date.
Retention and dunning
Make an offer when a customer wants to cancel, win back customers who stopped and have failed payments retried automatically.
Emails and brand style
Loyalo sends emails about subscriptions and points in your own brand style, in the customer's language. Per email you choose whether Loyalo or Klaviyo sends it.
