With a prepaid plan the customer pays for several deliveries at once. With the gift option they give a subscription to someone else, with a start date of their own and a message.

Creating a prepaid plan

  1. Open Subscriptions > PlansCreate a plan or open an existing one and add a frequency.
  2. Switch on 'Prepaid'Choose the number of deliveries per payment, for example 3, 6 or 12, and the discount for that package.
  3. Choose what happens afterWith 'Renew automatically afterwards' the customer pays again for the same number after the last delivery. Without renewal the subscription stops after the last delivery.

How the deliveries run

The customer pays once. The deliveries then go out at the rhythm of the plan, without a new collection. In the widget the package is a choice next to the regular frequencies, with the total amount and the number of deliveries.

Giving a gift

  1. Switch on the gift optionUnder Settings > Widget you switch on the gift option. The product page then offers the choice to give the subscription as a gift.
  2. The buyer enters the recipientName and email address of the recipient, a personal message and the start date.
  3. The recipient is toldOn the start date the recipient gets an email with the message. The first delivery waits until that date.
What a customer can do with prepaid

A customer cannot pause, skip or reschedule deliveries of a prepaid subscription themselves; you do that for them in the dashboard. Cancelling is only possible for a package that renews automatically: it then ends after the deliveries that were paid for.

Does prepaid work with iDEAL too?

Yes. The customer pays for the package with iDEAL; the deliveries are then scheduled automatically.

Can a gift start on a later date?

Yes. The buyer chooses the start date; the recipient gets an email on that day and the first delivery only goes out then.

Does the recipient have to give a payment method?

No. The buyer pays. With a package without renewal the recipient does not have to do anything.

Can a prepaid subscription be a gift as well?

Yes. That combination works well: a package of, say, six deliveries, paid at once, with a start date.
